The following information should help ease the transition of moving into the area for new residents.

Sanitation & Recycling

Monon trash service is provided by Waste Management.  Pick-up is early Friday morning.  Each residence is assigned one numbered trash bin.  Please put your trash bin out on Thursday evening to insure pick-up.  Questions / concerns regarding trash pick-up should be directed to the Monon Town Hall 219 253-6441.  Stickers for pick-up of large items and/or additional bags of trash can be purchased at the Monon Town Hall.

Water Utilities

Water bills are sent out on the first of each month.  Payment is due on the fifteenth.  Water bills can be paid in person at the Town Hall Monday through Friday 8:30 am through 4:30 p.m. (office is closed noon to 1:00 pm), by mail, or deposited in the secure drop box conveniently located curbside at the Town Hall. We accept cash, checks or money orders, but depositing cash in the drop box is not recommended.  Late payments are subject to a penalty charge.  Accounts with overdue balances will be reviewed and the water may be shut off.  A reconnection fee will be charged.
